Do You Know the Way to San Jose?

I do know the way to San Jose... I am here right now. The way here is:

1. Get up at 3:30 a.m.
2. Get a ridiculously incompentent driver to take you to the airport.
3. Bring your dog, your baby, and all your crap with you to the nightmare that is check-in and security.
4. Tell the airline staff that you do, in fact, have your pet's travel certificate (which you really do), and dance around a little when they ask you to present it.
5. Magically not have to present said certificate which your husband threw out.
6. Get through security with your husband holding your dog and you holding your baby while a cavalcade of your junk rolls through the scanner. *Need at least 10 bins for these items.
7. Pack things back up and go to gate C17.
8. Stop at Starbucks to get invigorated.
9. Be blessed enough to have the flight attendant find a way for you, your husband, your baby and your dog to sit in first class. (wheeee)
10. Count your blessings.
11. Enjoy first class and the proper glassware it provides.
12. Pack all your stuff up when the plane lands and be the last people off the plane.
13. Claim the rest of your pile of stuff at baggage claim.
14. Get a mini-van taxi, as you need that much room for your things.
15. Take the mini-van to your hotel in San Jose.

Fifteen easy steps to get to San Jose (or san josee, as Mom would say). Once you are there, be sure to call your family to let them know you have arrived. They miss you and you miss them. Terribly.

What a wild time to be here.

More to come...

Missing you terribly? Understatement of the year, kid. At least we're in the same time zone, which means we can watch "Lost" at the same time and call each other. I love you more than you can possibly imagine. I wish you the safest of travels and wonderful times with Louis, Gwen and the dog. Big, big hugs.

HA-larious. I could picture every moment. Travel is tough enough for me with just my own crap, let alone a husband, child, dog and accompanying accoutrements. I salute you, my lovely friend! XO

San Jose, huh? I'm so interested to hear the story behind why you're there. How long will you be there? I'm guess awhile given inanimate entourage that accompanied you there. I bet there's great weather, though.

Oh, and LOST is also my and Brian's favorite show right now. Can't wait for Thursdays.

Having just gotten back from a plane trip to Minnesota with THREE kids (who all fell asleep right before the plane landed ... every time) ... I'm a little jealous of the one kid and a dog trip. One-to-one being-that-needs-carrying ratio is good ... :)

Very curious as to the reasons behind San Jose....and travel with small children sounds AWFUL, no matter how many times Alicia and Lena do it to convince me it's easy. Much love your way, enjoy the weather (hopefully) and tell more stories!

Hope you have a great time and that it's (finally) sunny where you are in California. Enjoy yourself!

P.S. Love the 15 steps - I'll have to keep that in mind for future reference. :)
